Most Hostile Countries for Christians
Open Doors, a non-profit advocacy group for persecuted Christians worldwide, recently released their 2017 World Watch List. The map depicts the top-50 countries for Christian persecution. From North Korea, where it is illegal to be Christian, to China where ‘underground’ churches are popping up out of necessity, to Mexico where Christians face threats and violence as a repercussion for trying to quell the drug cartels, the United States Department of State has found that Christians in more than 60 countries face persecution from their governments or surrounding neighbors simply because of their belief in Jesus Christ.
More than 100,000,000 Christians worldwide are being persecuted because of their faith.
