In a press release, First Liberty Institute reported that legendary football coach Bobby Bowden, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 12 State Attorneys General, The Texas High School Coaches Association, and 15 members of Congress filed “friend of the court” briefs urging the Supreme Court of the United States to hear the case of Coach Joe Kennedy, a high school football coach who was fired for taking a knee at the fifty-yard line and offering a brief, private prayer after high school football games.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Supreme Court sent the case of floral artist Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers, back to the Washington Supreme Court today after vacating that court’s decision and instructing it to reconsider her lawsuit in light of the recent decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 7-2 today in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, a historic case that protects the right to free exercise of religion against the LGBT “sexual orientation” law that was being used to force a Christian baker to violate his conscience.
