Honduras Recovery

One of our partners approached us in November to help them help the people of Honduras, who were devastated by back-to-back hurricanes in the San Pedro Sula region. He had a connection with a church in the region, so we asked our following to help by making donations so that the local church there could purchase the items most needed.

We received a report back from our partner church, including this video. It may be in Spanish, but the images need no translation. Many families lost everything, but we were able to provide a little hope to them in their time of need in the way of:

  • Hygienic items
  • Food and cooking supplies for meals for 100+ families
  • Groceries for 20 families as they returned home from being in shelter
  • 300 meals served between two shelters
  • Toys for 120 displaced children
  • Mattresses
  • Rent
  • Medications

By funneling the funds through a church, our partners were able to minister to people as they served their felt needs. Several have started coming to church now—really, the best outcome we could hope for!
